WHAT!!!!! I can hardly believe I just typed that. I still feel like 2014 has just started, and it probably won't even sink in that it's 2015 until well into the summer. But nonetheless I am really thankful for everything that happened in 2014, and as always I take thanks for the little things that made this last month so wonderful. This was probably my favorite month I have had at work since I started (which is saying something because I LOVE my job), everyone was just so cheerful and festive. I saw a lot more smiles this month and I hope those smiles carry on into the new year. Decemember started out with the most wonderful week/weekend as I got to spend it with my best friend since kindergarten. I traveled down to Riverside California to see her KILL IT in the west coast NATIONAL FREAKING TOUR of Elf: The Musical. Y'all she was amazing and it was one of the highlights of my entire year watching her live out her dream!! Proud bestie moment for sure (tears included). Then she had a few days off and got to spend them with me in LA! One of the true joys of our friendship is that after basically a year of not seeing each other we can pick up right where we left off. It was the perfect breath of fresh air. After a week or so of meetings, decorating the apartment, hanging out with my LA buds, marathoning Cheers (God bless Netflix and Sam Malone) I packed up and got 2 whole weeks off of work (!!!!). I was lucky enough to go home and spend quality holiday time with my family, which I always ALWAYS treasure. Plus I got to see hometown friends as we had our 5 year high school reunion (what?). Then I came back for a few days off in LA, including a New Years Eve trip to DISNEYLAND!!!!! Hands down the best way to ring in the new year. I think spending a magical day in the happiest place on earth is about as surefire way to have a magical & happy year as any, right?

Well November happened... Is it just me, or has this year seemed to just fly by? I can't believe it's already time to buy Christmas presents and break out the sweaters (well-light sweaters here in LA). Luckily the weather has cooled down in So-Cal so it feels a liiiiiiittle bit like fall should feel. I did have to go more inland though to find what fall really looks like in California. Unfortunately most of my favorite month was spent bedridden due to a nasty cold. I spent close to 2 weeks basically sneezing my brains out and living off of chicken noodle soup, which led to a relatively uneventful November. But considering I spent the majority of last month traveling to Paris, London and Texas, an uneventful month was a nice change of pace. That being said, I did have the happy chance to surprise my family on Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!! My sister cried, my grandmother screamed and I'm pretty sure my dad still doesn't think those 3 days actually happened. It was such a fun surprise AND the fact that I got to spend my absolute favorite holiday with my sweet family, made my first surprise trip home a major success!! { Favorite month, favorite season, favorite colors } { Relived my childhood for a bit at the grocery store check out line } { Spent a gooooood amount of time playing with my rubberband ball at work this month } { Thanks to a dear friend I got to see an early screening of Mockingjay-Part 1, Happy Hunger Games!!! } { LA had some killer sunsets this month } { Orange Danish Sweet Rolls. Aka the greatest breakfast pastry of all time } { Oh hi Texas } { Best. Airport. Surprise. Ever. }

So... What's this all about?Lately I have realized that I 've not been thankful for the little things in life, which is ridiculous. Because lets face it, the little things are often times the BEST things & somehow I don't appreciate the simple beauty of them even though they surround me daily. So I started this series of monthly posts of 8 things that bring me happiness/joy during the month. Far too often I waste away the day and this series will challenge me to appreciate the little things and truly count my blessings each month. Archives
