You think I'm kidding.... But y'all I have been on A LOT of movie/studio tours in my life and this was HANDS DOWN the greatest I have ever been on. If you like the Harry Potter series, even just a little bit, this tour is worth it. I'm going to go ahead and say it's better then Harry Potter WORLD in Orlando. It's that cool.
One of the best things about this tour is that the majority of it is self-guided!!! So you can spend however little or as much time as you want (or need) in the studio. There are tour guides (who were FANTASTIC) and audio tours available if you prefer to have them. But there is honestly SO SO SO SO SO SO much to see and do that you really don't need them. They said that someone once completed the tour in 30 minutes while the longest it took someone was 13 HOURS (that's just insane). Even if you are of the 1% of the population OF THE WORLD who doesn't like Harry Potter but you like movies, this tour is for you. If you don't like Harry Potter or any movies at all, then you're tacky and I hate you. I'm only kinda kidding...
This was one of my favorite things my cousin and I did in London. We chose to do the tour at night because we thought it would be cool and spooky, plus half the films are dark so it just made sense. We spent about 2 and a half hours there, but I easily could have spent so much more time there because there is truthfully that much stuff to see, read, hear and experience. There are interactive portions where you can learn how to duel, fly a broom, get some green-screen action and even take a break with some butterbeer. There are many actual sets from the movies that you can walk/sit in, plus roughly a zillion props to see and learn more about. It is absolutely incredible. A true bit of magic about a hour north of London.
P.S. I only had my iPhone to take pictures. And by this point I had about 30% battery...So I sincerely apologize for the blurriness of these photos. My inner photo-nerd is dying a little bit even showing you these. So bare with me!!
Ok y'all, all of that (and more) was in just ONE sound-stage!!! Now we move outside where you can walk on a few sets and sit in some of the cars from the movie!! Plus here is where you stop for a glass of butterbeer!!
Then you venture back inside for more props, set designs, costumes and just more all around sheer awesomeness!!
And then. Just as you think you can't be wowed anymore. You turn the corner and see THIS:
